Angiopep-2 is a 19-amino-acid peptide derived from the Kunitz domain of human aprotinin, binding LRP1, a receptor highly expressed on both brain microvascular endothelium and glioma cells. It is one of the most thoroughly characterized shuttle peptides in blood-brain-barrier drug-delivery research, used as a conjugation ligand for brain-targeted nanocarriers and imaging probes.
