It is studied as a tumor-homing and cell-penetrating research reagent for GRP78-targeted recognition, receptor-mediated internalization studies in melanoma cell lines, organelle-specific (endoplasmic reticulum) delivery research, and molecular-imaging and nanomedicine construction.
