Pep42 is a synthetic 13-amino-acid cyclic peptide identified by phage-display screening as a ligand for GRP78, stabilized by an intramolecular disulfide bond. It is studied as a tumor-homing and cell-penetrating research reagent for GRP78-targeted recognition, receptor-mediated internalization studies in melanoma cell lines, organelle-specific (endoplasmic reticulum) delivery research, and molecular-imaging and nanomedicine construction.
